Have you considered a house sitter?
 
I am an exceptionally well presented 28yo professional female, who is currently house sitting in Brighton.   I will consider assignments in all Melbourne suburbs that are within a 15km radius of the city.
 
I will be available for house sitting from the 17th August until the 18th October.  While you are away, I will:
- ensure your home appears lived in, to increase security
- ensure that your rubbish bins are put out each week
- ensure that your mail is collected daily
- ensure that your plants are cared for
- ensure that your pets are pampered and cared for
- ensure that your car is "turned over" to ensure it is running smoothly on your return
