Hi.
My name is Mark Jones. I live with Sam in a sharehouse in Middle Park and one of our housemates is moving out. We have a large room for rent that will be available in August, 2009.
The house is of student-accomodation standard and the relatively expensive rent ($640) is due to the location being the best spot in Melbourne (I'm very Middle Park biased). Your room is the biggest in the house and, at a stretch, it could house a travelling couple with a little luggage, or a large Vietnamese family. Your room is unfurnished except a desk and filing cabinet. The house is fully furnished in every other capacity.
I am a 27-year-old teacher. I like to keep relatively fit and I love chocolate. Unfortunately, I find it hard to keep fit because of the chocolate addiction. I like to socialise with friends on the weekends via pubs, clubs, coffee and exercise. I have a girlfriend who stays most weekends at the house, but she will not compromise your quality of living in any way, shape or form. Actually, she is a psychologist, so if you have any kind of mental disorder, she might even be able to help (forget that, if you have any kind of mental disorder, please call somebody else who cares and disregard this ad). I love dogs but the property doesn't have any, except for the early hours of some Sunday mornings.
Sam, the other housemate, is a 23 year-old New Zealander. He is about to become a full-time student and his part-time job permits him open access to alcohol. Fortunately, these two things go hand-in-hand. Sam is new to the country and has open eyes and ears to everything Australian. Unfortunately, his adopted AFL team is Melbourne, and they haven’t been giving him much joy so far. He loves chicken and chips with a side of vegetables. Sam is also partial to chocolate, but more the Belgian kind as opposed to my personal favourite, Cadbury. Sam is living proof that the residence is in the ideal location, as he does not drive a car, but he has yet to encounter a problem travelling to work, going to the gym or picking up his Belgian chocolate. He absolutely adores chicken and chips with a side of vegetables. Most nights you will see Sam chilling out over a glass of wine or a mixed drink. Did I mention he loves chicken and chips?
So it would be you and us. Basically, we are two very down-to-earth guys that are very easy to live with. We are not anally clean, but our anals are clean. Our former housemate often left dishes out for weeks at a time, and that is each of our's pet hate. The state of the house forces us to keep the place clean, as it gets dirty quickly but is also very quick to clean. So, as long as we all work together to keep the communal area clean, it's a very happy house, and a great place to live. Given the condition of the property, it would suit a male 23-28, but we are willing to show it to willing females of the same age as well.
And that greatness is multiplied ten-fold when summer hits.
