D-Link, a worldwide leader in networking products, introduces the new DSL-200, a newly designed ADSL modem that provides USB connectivity at an affordable price.
The DSL-200 uses ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) technology to bring your Internet Speeds up to 150 times faster than a 56K analogue modem over a standard phone line. Unlike cable modems, ADSL does not use cross-user shared bandwidth, a phenomenon that has a significant detrimental effect on the connection speed as more users get on-line. With ADSL, the entire bandwidth is dedicated to a single connection. The Modem comes with a simple configuration tool and a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that allows you to easily modify settings to connect to an Internet Service Provider (ISP). The DSL-200 supports Static IP, Dynamic IP, as well as PPPoE/PPPoA and Bridge connections terminating on the local PCs. This modem provides a plug-and-play USB interface with the host PC through a USB port. Many PCs today come with USB ports. The modem connects to this USB interface through a provided USB cable. Supports Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, Mac OS 9.x & Mac OS X.
