Hi all,
I would like to warn everyone of the Scams that are going around Gumtree.I have been a victim and would like to warn others. Be aware of the following BSB accounts:
062-010 - 10221211
065-108-10315020
637 000 717116062
The low life goes by different names and uses different ads such as PS3 with 4 games, Nokia N97 unlocked.. etc
The ad id he used for the PS3 with 4 games was 148476117
The names he has used are:
Jamie Moein, Andrew Nichols, Robert Hayes, Shaun Howlett, John Daley, Sally Pickering, Scott Marsden, Hayden Rumble, Chris Patterson, chewawang changawang
He sells the products for extremely cheap and tell you that the product is at Coffs harbour or griffith for pickup. He then offers to deliver the product upon proof of payment through transfer to the BSB account. Do not do this, I was gullible to believe that BSB accounts would at least have some kind of sercurity but this is not so! Apparently , starting a fake bank account is easy and cops won't go to the trouble of freezing an account unless the amounts cheated are of a big amount. This scum probably knows this and will continue to prevail in this sort of low life scams. Anyone who has been a victim to this, please report the ad to gumtree first, wait for their response and approach the Police with their response, Google the BSB of the account and contact the bank in regards to the account that is used for the scam. I urge all victims to come together, as individuals we have little case to get the police to start any kind of investigations, that low life is depending on that, but if we have a collective case against this sorry excuse for a human being ,we might get our money back (fingers crossed!)
I have already been in contact with one such victim.
Never do any money transfers direct, always use paypal or credit card, best to do it face to face, was an expensive lesson for me to learn , hope this advice saves you the $$$
