Date Listed: 28/05/2008 Alba's Surf Club Melbourne We are a group of friends looking for more surf buddies interested on going surfing in a friendly environment. Any active buddy is welcome to join us!!! We are more than 50 active members at the moment… Long, standard or buggy boards are welcome, we make not difference… each one chooses their size! ;-) WE GOING EVERY WEEKEND!!! The plan is to head the beach as often as possible. It is always easier and more amusing to hit the coast with some other mattes with same interests. It is always a great experience to get to know new people in such a sportive environment. Enjoyable plan for people that love sports and nature! Indispensable to be adventurous and outgoing person ;-) So anyone is welcome to join the sports team ;-) But make sure you will bring a smiling face with you. We are a bunch of fun and surf crazy people from all continents, cultures, ages & languages... however we have something in common!... We love SURFING!!!!!!! Normally we do one day trip to: Phillip Islands (Woolamai, Smiths, Cat Bay...), West coast beaches (Torquay, Bells, Jan Juc, Winki, 13th Beach, South side, Fairhaven…) or to Mornington Peninsula (Portsea, Gunnamatta Beach, 2nd Reef, Flinders...), etc. Where we go always depends on the wind and swell conditions for that concrete weekend. What always allows us to hite the best break no matter where it is located. We usually organise long weekend’s trips, to back packer’s hostels or renting our own big house, at least once a month. I forgot…we also organise some parties for farewells, member’s birthdays and/or no reason al all ;-) just Hawaiian or beach party even if it is winter ;-) We fill the available car spaces (from the buddies with car) with the rest of the team members to reduce petrol expenses for all of us. This enables us to go surfing as often as possible ;-) Petrol costs are around 15$/each person going and back: Melbourne-Beach-Melbourne. Don’t worry if you don’t have board or surf-suit, we find it for you. All you need to go surfing it is the will to do surf and the enthusiasm to have fun with new mattes from all over the world. In the club we have all levels, so no worries; you will always find mattes in your same position. • Advanced level II: Thomas Tyack, Ryan Pemble, Chris Parry... • Advanced level I: Alba Ruiz, Huyen Nguyen, Evelyne Meier, Gilberto Navarrete, Sylvain Rid, Justin Price, Adam Richardson … • Intermediate Level: Stephen Seelig, James O'Connor, Mario Alberto Ricaurte, Lina Vallin, Johan Wiberg, Natalia Mona Tjahjono, David Tang, Anja Brueggemann, Frank Orschulok, Frank Orschulok... • Beginners: All the rest (some stand up in the board and some are still trying)... In this “Club” we are all the same; nobody is making money with this. Our only purpose is to make easier for all members to go surfing as much as possible, meet new people and have fun in a friendly environment. We all help each other and share all travel costs, what else it is more important than to make real friends in life. Therefore we ask all new members to: participate in the team activities, come surfing at least once a month, help in whatever is in your hands if needed.
