Wanted: Travelling the East coast - end of Aug, beg of Sept

Hey!
My best friend and I (23/24 yo French) are planning to travel down the East coast from Cairns to Sydney in three weeks, from 26 Aug.
We are looking for rides from a city to another, or even a lift all the way. Of course, we want to stop and enjoy most of the touristy attractions on the way :)
 
If anyone is interested or has a car to share...
