Cultural Arts Support Refugees
Arts supports Refugees. Even though the Government has changed and the detention centres are being closed the refugees still need our support. “The World Around Us” is an event that will not only support the refugees but promises to be a night of high quality entertainment highlighting the talents of musicians from around the world who have settled in Melbourne and have been acknowledged with excellence within the Australian music scene.
The night’s entertainment will include performances from the Diva of all divas Jazz singer/songwriter Ruth Rogers Wright, renowned pianist Mark Fitzgibbons, Classics cover band Wonder, Opera and Contemporary Vocalist Lorie Iannotti the Latin rhythms of Claudia Osegueda and a special performance from up and coming talent Raven.
All proceeds on the night will be donated to the Fitzroy Learning Network to continue their work supporting refugees. This growing organisation holds English, Computers and Technology classes and often is the first call for support of advocacy for Refugees.
“The World Around Us” has been masterminded by Robbie Raymond 2nd Year Bachelor of Australian Contemporary Music student at NMIT Fairfield. Robbie himself is an established performer/teacher who has organized these amazing musicians to come together to donate their time and talent to help the cause.

“The World Around Us” will be held on Thursday 30th October 7.00pm at the Uniting Church Hall, 251 High Street, Northcote. Ticket price $12 or $25 which includes Dinner and Entertainment (BYO). RAFFLE AND FREE GIVEAWAYS
