Date Listed: 30/06/2008 Shiamak Davar is India’s No. 1 choreographer specializing in jazz and contemporary Indian dances. He has choreographed several Bollywood movies, stage shows and Indian Movie Awards Nites. Shiamak has represented India at the Closing Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games Melbourne 2006, world events including the World Economic Forum in Davos, Indo-Japan Friendship Year 2007 inaugural event in Tokyo and Indian Economic Forum in Rome, Italy. Combining contemporary Indian styles with Western techniques, Shaimak has created his own unique, trademark style called “Shiamak’s Indo Jazz Dance Movement” (SIJDM). Originally with two centers in Mumbai, today there are several branches in all the major Indian cities as well as overseas in Toronto and Vancouver, Canada and now in Melbourne Australia. ‘Bend It Like Bollywood’ brought to you by Events India Inc., is a dance spectacular choreographed by Shaimak Davar exclusively for Melbourne audience and dance lovers.
