The New Hope Foundation supports newly emerging ethnic groups and refugee/special humanitarian entrants in the Western region of Melbourne through our current office, which is located on 21 Victoria Street Footscray. This office is a resource centre for refugees, providing access for community activities and office space and supported by volunteers from the community.
We are currently seeking keen volunteer sewing teachers to assist refugee women with sewing skills. This would include basic sewing instructions, use of sewing machines and garment constructions. Ideally, volunteers will have experience and skills in sewing, using sewing machines, garment construction and repairs. It is also an opportunity to give refugee women a place to come together for support and to share ideas.
