Hi everyone!

I'm a 30-year-old trained secondary teacher with vacancies for piano & music theory students in Melbourne. I've been teaching in schools for eight years and have taught piano on and off for a number of years during that time. I've also worked as a musical director of stage musicals, a dance music producer and have written a variety of songs & compositions from rock ballads to dance. I also play drums and guitar.

I'm originally classically trained, but have also studied jazz piano. I have a B Mus + DipEd and completed Sixth Grade AMEB before starting my jazz piano work. As well as teaching, I now compose, remix and produce dance music (my website is www.fourthnation.com).

I've taught students aged from 8 to 70 and have a special interest in students who are keen to learn about modern composition, chord progressions and song writing, however I'm also available to teach classical and AMEB. Computer music production a specialty.

I also enjoy tutoring in music theory and I am passionate about passing on my skills in this vital, but often challenging, area for any aspiring musician.

If you're looking for someone with varied musical experience that will be able to enthuse you or your child with fun and challenging lessons, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. In addition, in order to give you a chance to meet me, I always offer my first lesson at half price!

I conduct all lessons at your place, with travel included in my hourly rate (within most areas). Lessons are generally 1hr and feature some technical work to ensure continued practise of the basics but always invovle plenty of music-making. Depending on requirements, I'll also work theory (esp. rhythm) into practical lessons as needed.
