iDance Creative instructor, Elisa Pittella, teaches Creative Ballet from a beautiful New York style studio above Sprout in Hawthorn.
Enjoy a coffee and cake in the rustic cafe while your child explores ballet through creative dance, in a joyful, safe non-competitive environment. Your child will learn ballet skills and vocabulary through creative dance, thereby helping him/her learn ballet more easily and enjoyably without the rigidity of the traditional structure.
An iDance Creative Ballet class provides a brain-compatible approach to learning this beautiful art-form.
The class structure includes the Braindance, exploring a different movement concept each week, developing skills, and creating, rounding out the fun in this developmentally appropriate introduction to ballet.
The value of creative dance
It is assumed that dance is natural and children are creative. Therefore, simply turning on music should inspire creative dance. However, without knowledge children’s movement responses cannot develop and grow. In addition to opening new worlds of creativity and self-expression, creative dance has the power to enhance intellectual, social, emotional, and physical learning.
Elisa Pittella is an experienced dance educator. She has trained as a performing arts professional, teaching and performing in the industry for many years. Elisa recently returned from an intensive scholarship program with the pioneers of creative dance in the U.S. and is excited to bring that knowledge back home. Her aim is to generate widespread education about the benefits of brain-compatible creative dance, and to continue bringing the joy of dance to people of all ages!
