African Drumming Classes

Experience the rich, vibrant culture of West Africa through drumming! Master drummer Mohamed Camara from Guinea, West Africa is running African drumming classes in Northcote and Eltham. Mohamed teaches a series of traditional rhythms comprising djembe accompaniments and solos, dun dun patterns and songs. The classes are a great way to socialise, relieve stress and get energised! All classes accompanied by Anna Camara on dun duns.

 

Northcote Classes:
Northcote classes are held at Esoteric Gallery, 557 High Street Nortchote (Near cnr Darebin Rd)

*4-week beginners courses beginning Thursday 26th Nov 2009, and 7th Jan 2010
Time: 6-7pm, Thursdays
Cost: $72 / $80 with drum hire

 

Eltham classes:
Eltham classes are held at St Margaret's Church, 81 Pitt Street Eltham

Children's Classes: 4:30-5:30pm Mondays
Cost: 7-week course $84 (includes drum hire)
* Term 1 2010 begins Monday, 8th Feb, 2010

Adult Classes: 6:00-7:00pm Mondays
Cost: 7-week course $126, drum hire $2 per class
*4-week Summer course begins Monday, 11th Jan, 2010
