I'm in Australia for a year or so, and I'm looking to pick up a car that will work for that long. It doesn't need to do anything other than go, but it needs to be in a legally roadworthy condition. I'll want to do things by the book and get the correct documentation and paperwork sorted, but essentially I'm happy to take any old car off your hands for a reasonable fee providing these specifications apply.

My budget is up to $500 or so, but willing to negotiate.
